The Nutrition Promotion Foundation
The Nutrition Promotion Foundation was established on December 19, 1989 with the objective of promoting and supporting nutrition in areas of education, training and research by cooperating and coordinating with government, private agencies and the Institute of Nutrition, Mahidol University (INMU). The first contribution to the Foundation was a generous donation of 200,000 Baht by Emeritus Professor Dr. Aree Valyasevi—INMU’s Founding Director. Currently, total contributions in the Foundation have reached 3,664,837.34 Baht! The Foundation supports INMU's activities by developing and promoting staff welfare. It is also actively involved in publishing books on food and nutrition for the general public as well as arranging nutrition meetings. The Nutrition Promotion Foundation’s main purpose is to help Thai people develop good nutritional status.
